Even the slightest movement from Hythlodaeus could very well get Emet-Selch going again. They both know this. For now, he tries to concentrate on teasing him about the cat thing. Though he had truly meant that it was amusing as a compliment!
"I would take you as a cat over being forced to spend time with yet another miqo'te any day." Seriously he's had enough of those weirdos. "It's the truth."
Emet-Selch would know he'd truly lost his mind if he ever preferred someone over Hythlodaeus. There would be no returning at that point.
Giving a chuckle at the way Hythlodaeus' tail seems to respond on its own, he shakes his head. "No, I fear it has only made it stronger. You must be careful or I will get jealous of whose attention you attract." Another sure sign that he would have lost his mind: not being hyperaware of every single gaze that followed his lover for even a second more than was welcome.
"'Tis hardly something I can avoid, it seems. Though I have tried." Seriously. He doesn't want to be crazy and jealous about it, especially when it comes to their mutual friends! He's just got Hythlodaeus back after a very, very, very long time without him.
But he kisses his lover gently with a contented sigh. "But I thank you for the reassurance, nonetheless. You are so terribly patient with me." Seems like long ago it would have been the other way around. So ... this is fine.
Emet-Selch gives a grunt as he slides out of Hythlodaeus, turning his head to watch his lover roll off and lay beside him. It feels a bit lonely already, not that he's going to say it.
"I could play with you all afternoon." He teases softly, gently pushing some soft lavender tresses out of the way before his hand flops at his side again. "But you seem rather in need of a cat nap." And who is he to deny anyone that, all puns aside.
Emet-Selch huffs in amusement, holding Hythlodaeus against him. Not too tightly, lest they get too hot of course. Perish the thought of having to let go of one another at some point due to that.
"You've got a deal." He answers, kissing the crown of Hythlodaeus' head before he settles back a little bit, idly stroking his lover's skin as he prepares for a little cat nap himself.
