ummm im at the store rn looking at ice cream flavours — can you believe they've even sullied the humble mint chocolate chip with a sex pun btw? nothing is sacred.
so i can come to you, if you like? or we can meet at mine. or you can come pick your flavour yourself if you're worried about trusting my flavour choices.

don't worry about getting her out of the way, i wanna meet her.
..... does she eat ice cream??? should i get her some?
Let's not feed her ice cream. Though Morbols can eat and digest anything, I am not sure she'd like the sensation of the cold. I wouldn't wish for her to spew toxic fumes.
[Who knows what a Morbol brain-freeze tantrum looks like?]
oh, yeah. hate it when ice cream encourages toxic fumes. really annoying when that happens
[ There's a joke about cats and their low-key intolerance to lactose here but he's not making it. Just in case Hyth doesn't know what lactose is and then they'll have a repeat of the your mom joke thing. ]
meat.... got it. i can do that. be over in ten.
When he arrives at Hyth's apartment, it's at the doorway rather than poofing out of seemingly nowhere in a plume of purple flames. It's not that he had any qualms about surprising him (since he'd have every right to for the number of times Hyth has done it to him!!) and more for the fact that the flirt-to-activate thing is starting to get on his nerves. So he took a fancy flying car over to Hyth's instead. Like a normal person.
He bumps the door shut with his ass once he's inside, swinging a little paper bag in his claws.
"Hyth? I didn't know what kinda meat to get so I got a bunch. Or, rather, they just gave me a bunch. Something about cats and a varied appetite for maximum energy output, I wasn't listening."
Of course, Hythlodaeus sweeps over to Cat and kisses him on the cheek when he sees him, smiling wide.
"Oh, you will be popular with her today, then! Heh... 'tis good to see you again, my friend."
Behind Hythlodaeus comes Anthos, her vines undulating and her body jiggling as she makes her way over. She's a little bit like a shadow to Hythlodaeus when she isn't digesting food, which gets to be annoying so he feeds her often just to get her out from under his feet. She seems to love him all the more for it, too.
She looks up at Cat, tilted upwards, hands flexing as if ready to grab onto something. She clearly knows there's meat in there.
"Here she is. I will let you choose what to feed her first, but anything with bones inside will give us more time to ourselves."
The kiss is welcome, as all of Hyth's physicalities are, and the Cat is already halfway to purring just from that little brush of contact, so the fact he replies in kind shouldn't be a surprise.
"Good to see you too, looking handsome as ever. Or maybe more so." Though he can't resist a charm as it flutters its way out of his mouth even as he looks down toward the new friend inhabiting the apartment.
He... okay, he's not totally surprised, given that he's seen Anthos before over a video feed, but seeing her on a screen and seeing her in real life are two totally different things. The way she wriggles, her little hands reaching up, the many, many mouths on her gnashing as if reaching for what the Cat holds. He's a little mesmerised, honestly, not entirely sure if he's still weirded out by her or finds her oddly charming.
"Got it..." he murmurs, shifting the bag onto his hip to draw out a succulent-looking leg of some kind of red-meat animal, with a large bone through the centre with the marrow still intact. More fit for a jungle cat than a Cat King like him, but he hadn't been fussy. He blinks at Anthos, then at Hyth. "... Which mouth do I put it in, or do I just-"
He offers the thing out, wondering if those little pawing hands will do the feeding work for him.
The hands have taken the meat and placed it directly in her larger, main mouth before Hythlodaeus can so much as offer guidance. He giggles, and looks on fondly as Anthos oozes her way over to a pillow in the corner of the room- a hastily placed bed pillow, but she seems to like it for now.
"Isn't she precious? I must say, having a critter for a companion isn't something that has ever crossed my mind. 'Twas more the norm in Elpis, which was a facility for testing creations, than it was in Amaurot, the city in which I lived."
And he'd never really gotten easily attached to creations. Sure, he could admire them from a practical standpoint. Teeth and claws only endeared him to such creatures, but never had it gone past mild appreciation. Anthos' personality, however... had he truly missed out on seeing all these creatures had to offer by being so cold and professional?
He takes Cat's hand idly, leaning against him before chuckling.
The Cat watches with thinly veiled interest as Anthos takes her treat and seems to be done with socialising, preferring to sit on her cute little pillow and gnaw. In a weird way, the Cat can almost relate to that instinct, even though it's certainly more dog-like than it is feline, and Anthos is unlike any animal he's ever seen – but the desire to enjoy a good meal in good comfort and good company (even if that company is your own) is familiar to him.
So, when Hyth takes his hand and leans on him, the Cat grins up at him.
"Well, I'm pretty charming, and I came bearing treats, so she'd be helpless to resist me. Food is often the way to any creature's heart." Which is about when he holds up the bag and shakes it. "So maybe I'll be able to charm you, too."
There are a few more meat hunks wrapped in paper and plastic, but the most important items sit pride of place on the top. Cat has brought a pint of his favourite, salted caramel, along with a pint of Neapolitan and a pint of vanilla (just in case). He's also picked up one of those little tasting boxes full of little mini tubs of various flavours, because he figured Hyth might like to try a few different flavours.
"Not that we've gotta eat all of this or anything, but I figured it's better to have too much than not enough, right?"
The Cat King is right about that, of course. The promise of nourishment would endear almost any creature to someone, given time and patience. That's not to say the person offering the food might not become the treat they've so lovingly offered in some cases.
Hythlodaeus makes a sound of appreciation at the ice cream, and takes his eyes away from Anthos, so she can digest her meal in peace.
"Goodness, what a selection. We had better put the ones we're not eating in the freezer, don't you think? Lest they melt, and spoil perfectly delicious ice cream."
He picks up the tubs first, placing them on a counter and eyeing them thoughtfully.

Get her a nice cut of meat. She will love it.
