Described as "incurably smug" by his best friend Emet-Selch, Hythlodaeus revels in gently teasing his friends and associates. He's easily amused, often seen chuckling. He relishes the chance to make a new acquaintance; open and friendly, he's always amenable to good discussion. He seems quite comfortable with strangers, ready to tease as long as they seem comfortable with it (or not, in Emet-Selch's case). All in all, a good friend to have.

Thanks to his additional soul, Hythlodaeus is starting to hold grudges when wronged. His opinion on clothing is skewing slightly towards wanting more skin showing, all the better to take in the sun's rays. He needs to drink more water, especially when it's hot, and will be irritable if it's too cold.

He occasionally leaves tiny Elpis flowers to grow on his favourite people!

Ruminant and Glire-types may be viewed with slight suspicion, but Hythlodaeus is a trusting fellow for the most part so it may not matter too much. For now.

Tall and thin, but built well in the arms, shoulders, back and chest from years of archery. His eyes glow.

Thanks to his Natural Soul, he's usually seen with a bit of an iridescent sheen to his lighter hair, and his eyes will be several colours that shift. Eventually his skin will become translucent in places, his veins delicate and white beneath the skin.

Soul SightHythlodaeus' most powerful ability is his soul sight, which allows him to see the soul colour and brightness/density of others, follow their aetheric trails (aether being the building blocks of life, and the essence of others) and pinpoint people across long distances by the colour of their soul alone. The brighter the soul, the generally "stronger" the person; however this can be interpreted in many ways, including strong willpower, physical or magical strength, etcetera.

Ancients in general also tended to recognise one another by their aetherial signature rather than by sight alone- this meant that despite wearing the same masks and robes in most cases, they could immediately recognise one another anyway. This isn't quite the same as soul sight, however, as one likely needed to be close enough to the other in order to discern who they were, whereas Hythlodaeus' soul sight allows him to find someone over a great distance.

Given his ability to see souls, Hythlodaeus can not be fooled by invisibility, nor can anyone effectively hide from him unless they can cloak their soul as well. Should someone shapeshift into an entirely different form, assuming Hythlodaeus knows what that person's soul already looked like it won't fool him.

Creation MagicksUsing aether, Hythlodaeus can weave clothing, tools, and even animals and plants into existence. He was better at this than most, able to effortlessly bend aether to his will. However, in Karteria this takes an extreme amount of focus the bigger or more complex the item or creature is, and so he'd rather just... not.
BardHis main attacks come from his ability to wield the bow efficiently, and indeed he's a good shot with his arrows! He'd rather find arrows elsewhere than have to create them now, and his offensive magicks aren't quite as powerful as they once were, but they exist... to a degree.
Offensive MagicksCapable of using fire and ice to dispose of his enemies, but rather unwilling to try to use it unless he's run out of options given how exhausting the process is.
Healing MagicksHonestly, Hythlodaeus will mostly be tapping into the Terra-type healing abilities more than his original ones!
TeleportationIn a cloud of darkness, Hythlodaeus can teleport himself from one place to another. Can only teleport to somewhere he's already been (as long as it isn't too far), and the process is tiring.

Plant Cells & PhotosynthesisStronger in the sunlight, able to recover faster and even forgo food (not water) if he gets enough sun. However, at night he's a little weaker. If he's deprived of the sun for too long, Hythlodaeus will shut himself away emotionally and lose the energy to Full-Shift.

Also capable of rooting himself into the ground to absorb nutrients, and in fact needs to do it every so often. He prefers to do this somewhere private, but if he finds a willing Golem type he'd be glad to attach himself for a while. Able to "see" anything embedded or impacting the earth at this time, including magical or living creatures. However, unrooting too quickly can be painful!
Plant ManipulationCan influence the growth of other plants, forcing them to grow, distort and bend to his will in any way he sees fit.
Regenerative AbilitiesAs long as his Augmenter remains attached to his consciousness, Hythlodaeus can heal catastrophic injuries and even regrow limbs if necessary. His skin may become thorny in this time, and poisonous to touch.
Terra Type: Healing & ToxicHealing: Hythlodaeus has access to mild healing abilities, and can secrete a fluid from his fingertips that gently soothes and aids healing. If he's healthy enough, he can use mild regenerative magicks to speed up healing.

Toxic: His blood, unlike the balm he secretes from his fingertips, is poisonous. Able to withstand alcohol and other substances, and immune to being poisoned himself. Otherwise, he can't poison anyone else without spilling blood- it's more of a defensive ability!
Full-Shift [Reference]When Full-Shifted, Hythlodaeus primarily takes on the traits and appearance of a Morbol. If he eats in this form, he uses the spikes in his large mouth to keep his food immobile while he digests it there. He can eat pretty much anything his heart desires, even rotten or spoiled food. Has no access to his healing abilities in this form- it's all toxins from here.

With thick vines for legs and thinner vines for hair, Hythlodaeus is capable of grabbing hold of things and pulling them closer. He can also hit hard with his heavier vines. His nails and teeth are long and thin, like thorns.

In this form, Hythlodaeus has access to a potent attack called Bad Breath, which is exactly what it sounds like! He will spew toxic fumes from his mouth which leave targets blind, paralysed, nauseous and slow for up to twenty seconds.

Friendly interactions will be met with equal friendliness! Sexual intent may or may not be reciprocated, romance will be on a case-by-case basis!

Violence is allowed but I'd like to discuss beforehand if things are going to get to the point of serious injury.
